Dr. Patrick Gicheru is the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) Embu station director.
He is a holder of Doctor of Philosophy (Soil Science) degree, Master of Science (Land and Water Management) and Bachelor of Science (Hons) all from University of Nairobi. Further, he holds a Post Graduate Dip. (Soil Survey) from ITC the Netherlands and Senior Management training. He is a Licensed EIA Lead Expert since 2004.
Professionally, he has extensive experience in natural resource management with a bias in sustainable land management and environmental impacts on agricultural land use spanning over 30 years. Current research focus is on land and water management linking it with natural resource management and land use planning. He is also involved with issues related to Green Water credits and payment of environmental services, land degradation and sustainable land management, climatic change and how it impacts on carbon stocks nationally and internationally.
