Elvine Kwamboka

Research associate at SEI Africa

Elvine Kwamboka joined SEI Africa as a research associate in August 2017. Her interests include climate change policy, climate change adaptation and mitigation; climate finance; agriculture; sustainable energy; and science communication. Elvine is also the acting Communications Assistant for SEI Africa research projects.

Prior to becoming a research associate, Elvine interned at SEI Africa for a year, supporting a climate finance initiative, the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions project and the Transitions Pathways and Risk Analysis for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption Strategies (TRANSrisk) project.

She is currently working on the TRANSrisk project to assess low emission transition pathways.

Prior to joining SEI, Elvine worked at National Environment Management Authority, Health and Water Foundation and Kenya Environmental Education Network.

She holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainability) from Kenyatta University. Her Master’s thesis analysed the effects of climate variability on food security in Kajiado County, Kenya. She is also a registered Environmental Impact Assessment/Audit Associate expert.
