Planning and Policy Manager. Responsible for all issues relating to planning and policy at the National Drought Management Authority. This include policy review and development; working with other parts of the Government to ensure that sector policies integrate the Government’s commitment to strengthen resilience to drought and climate change; monitoring and coordinating implementation of Ending Drought Emergencies Strategy; formulating policies, guidelines and procedures Governing NDMA’s operations; coordinating formulation, monitoring and review of NDMA’s Strategic Plan and work plans; formulation, monitoring and review of the Authority’s Performance Contract; Budgeting; establishment of the Authority’s Management Information System; corporate planning, project development, monitoring and evaluation.
I am also head of the Ending Drought Emergencies (EDE) Secretariat and Chair of Pillar 6 on Institutional Development and Knowledge Management.
Also the IGAD Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) Focal Person for Kenya.
Previously worked as the Programme Officer, Policy and Legal Reforms at the Agricultural Sector Coordination Unit (ASCU) in 2011-2013. Responsible for coordinating all inter-ministerial issues relating to Policy and Legal Reforms in the Agricultural Sector.
